Tribe has a new partitioning page soon. What do you think so far:
There is a new iso out aswell:

Best thing is: It doesn't flicker anymore ![]()

For me, still the same udevd error message, like surfed desrcribed. No delay to normal startup in live session.
I got past RAM disk selection once, but didn't get to the new partitioning page. Few more tries did not get me past the license agreements, tried on my laptop and on a system with an ATI graphics card.

I think its gonna be good to have option to minimize Tribe, or to resize window (something like Ubuntu installer), because of you can do other staff while Tribe install sistem...

I really don't know what it is. It is unstable as hell. Maybe Dario finds something. It has the latest RC3 pkgs on it.
We can try this:
sudo pacman -Rd chakra-parted chakra-libpartitionmanager chakra-tribe chakra-tribe-debug partitionmanager sudo pacman -Sy kdemod-parted kdemod-tribe-partitionmanager kdemod-tribe kdemod-tribe-debug kdemod-partitionmanager
... to see if the old build is stable on RC3. Also it is possible to install it the other way around on capua release to recheck RC2 with latest tribe build.

Amnon, I will try your first suggestion, but for me, the second one makes more sense. Capua RC2 has been very stable here on 5 different systems (I know, very much unlike the experience of others). With the release of RC3 shaman is unstable again, I already had 3 KDE crashes (kate, dolphin) in a few hours of use. It has been a while, since I had any crash in RC2. And tribe was very stable in capua, installed on pc's with really not enough RAM, installed without setting up swap, none of that caused any trouble.

Well it seems a kdemod-core build might be usefull after all. Will do that tonight. Maybe 4.3 series is more stable. It might be KDE 4.4 or the new pkgs. New partitioning page was never tested. Seems I've to delay Alpha5 after all. It is not usefull at all to do a backstep and be more unstable than Alpha3 and 4.

FWIW, KDE 4.4RC2 was more stable here then any KDE 4 I've tried, just 2 bugs for me, right clicking to select more widgets (fixed in RC3) and delay when selecting properties in large files (not fixed yet).

I tried the second option. Took a LiveCD with capua x86_64, removed Tribe, partition-manager, etc. Installed the new Tribe, etc. I do get past RAM disk options each time, but crashes before getting to the new Prartition page.

Ok, so there is no need to try it with older pkgs. I think the new branch is to unstable. I'll wait till KDE SC 4.4.0 is finally out and we try it then again. I'll update Roadmap now ...

Will you be building on top of Panora preview with xdeltas? Just asking to see if i can delete iso.

Well panora tested, all the above problems:
udev . but my system is very fast so i don't get any delay
new langs added in marble stage works perfect and the new locales in the initscripts too
the widget selection is fixed
i used my printer (HP psc) directly from LiveCD simply configuring it with -> sudo hp-setup
Crash in the partitionmanager stage (i can reach this page but i cannot go to the next page)
I used it in mode Live CD (1 hour) and no crashes....

The new version of the tribe can now detect Windows installs and add an entry in grub?

@surfed: I don't have any old alpha4 iso on my hdd anymore. I've to download it again to have it. Basicly no. I'll create new isos when finished
@kepin: we just added the new page. It is just to see if the new stuff can be compiled. This page don't work at all. Lukas is checking the code today. Maybe he comes up with some. Dario is doing his exams so he is a little bussy in real life. Panora is planed for mid march now. Basic functions I and Manuel added are finished now. A routine to detect windows isn't added yet but I can check the net for some code to add it soon.
