Well this is not a GTK-QT-warp. This is qt for real. Yes, we are coding a qt-ui for nvidia-settings.
Stay tuned ...

Re: nvidia-settings-qt

We will add it as soon as it is ready. You can create a PKGBUILD for ccr if you like.

hi, i've made a PKGBUILD
either I've compiled it wrong or it's still missing a lot of features so i'm not going to upload it to aur or ccr...have fun with it

btw. nice project

Re: nvidia-settings-qt

Some minor improvements (completed some things, for example the color correction tab is 100% done, and I started working on some other configuration tabs), but no big news yet.
Just to reassure you, it's not dead and forgotten, but since I started that one, cbundle and cinstall were without a maintainer and I took over the development of those, plus I started working a bit on Akabei, plus other various Chakra support and, of course, university exams...

I still want to complete it, but sometimes having to cope with both GTK+ and Qt idiosincrasies is tedious, let's say I'd appreciate another couple of hands working on it! tongue

Re: nvidia-settings-qt

Hy philm,

nice work, but sorry, but.. snapin in Systemsettings ? imho for some Configurations/System-info's in KDE and QT the right Place.. there for it is make to possible creating Systemsettings-plugins/snapins in KDE wink
for have some Configurations and Informations about diffrent thins in a "Controlcenter" like just in Systemsettings.
Apropo Systemsettings.. it is need more configurations-possibilitys for Chakra in Systemsettings as snapins a very good possibility to start this with just the possibility to make nvidia-settings as nvidia-systemsettings-snapin in Systemsettings wink and as Admin-conf-snapin directly as xorg.conf - Configurator/Adjuster -check if Nvidiacard-start Nvidia-snapin if not, start xorg.conf-configurations-snapin wink Like i see it is need in Systemsettings diffrent  Systemsettings just like an Adjuster for Xorg.conf in Chakra ad why not both in Systemsetting, an Nvidia-Tool and an xorg.conf-Configurer/Adjuster as snapin in Systemsettings
On Nvidia-cards be so much configurations possibilitys, why not coding it inside with checkboxes and adjuster
for Nvidia-Cards as Admin-systemsettings-snapins for enhanced Users..
i have installer for UT99,Quake3,UT2004 in Linux and play with it..
( i can uploaded, but only if it is possible to can adjusting my System like i whant..and in Chakra it is not possible like i see.. need more configtools in Systemsettings like in Mandriva the Drakconf, but just in Systemsettings)

I want to tell you what resolution my monitor can tolerate and what for an Resolution my Nvidia to have use !
the same it is in Virtualbox, i want tell to have my resolution and not what it is standard in Chakra.
I have 1280x1024 on my Desktop and want use in vbox 1280x960 ! and not 800x600 .. bahh
i whant ajust by ma' self ! there for the Systemsetting-snapin !

and... in the Readme in Nvidia-drivers be what it is all possibility to checking and adjusting like i know, so it is possibility to add checking and adjusting with checkboxes and adjusters configuring his own card on a highest level as enhanced user, like i think big_smile and this can save as xorg.conf for nvidia-drivers wink

By Side why not an ATI-Driver-Gui ? ( okey, i be an Nvidia-fan, realy) but if on an Systemsettings-snapin...

good suggestion or not ? wink

best regards
Blacky

Re: nvidia-settings-qt

Hi, of course the integration with KDE's System Settings has been in mind for a while, but I thought best to first port to Qt the nvidia-settings program, as it is, then maybe integrate it with System Settings.

I haven't tackled the ATi GUI since I've never had an ATi card, only NVIDIA, so I wouldn't know where to start and how to test it.

Re: nvidia-settings-qt

Hy Philm and Jmc big_smile,

it seems it is need a ATI-Tool for Configuration too :

http://chakra-project.org/bbs/viewtopic … 016#p51016

and my AMD 2xCore was behind 5 Jears fine working goes to Hardwarecrash( Mainboard)
and have buy an Bulldozer FX-4100 8 GB DDR3 ATI HD3000 3D VGA.... take a look
with Integrate ATI HD 3000 and for them i need drivers too and a Configuration tool..

here a suggestion:

it is not easyer to develope an XOrg-Config-Tool-settings who autocheck wich drivers be installed and make possible with autodedect-config-files wich configurations be possible and use nvidia-conf or ati-conf with settings be possible and enabling it in the Gui..
Like i know it is a readme on nvidia-drivers wich switches be possible on the nvidia-bundles who i had installed by self.. it is a readme on the ATI-Drivers added too ?
And why not a X-Config-settings(plugin) developing who can work with the Nvidia-drivers, ATI-Drivers and the real Open Sourced XOrg-driver ...

1. check wich drivers be running set xorg-server=ati-settings-conf  #or nvidia-settings-conf or xorg-settings-conf(internal)
2. use driverspezific conf-file (nvidia-settings-conf ati-settings-conf xorg-settings-conf )
3.load the xorg-session snapin in systemsettings xorg-config-settings -conf= %xorg-server%
4. load /etc/X11/xorg.conf and edit xorg.conf
5. Get the User Configurations and Test-possibilitys in QT-Gui-settings with %xorg-server%-scripting snapin
if all fine running.

maby developing anyone an QT-xorg.conf-Allroundtool-settings Snapin

best regards
Blacky

Re: nvidia-settings-qt

It was put on halt when I started to maintain cbundle, which was in need of much more rework and it is a necessary piece in this distribution. I am always looking for other collaborators who can help on side projects like this one, so if you feel like helping, I'd appreciate much your collaboration.
