Those on the test-squad mailing list already know, see this post but more testers/feedback is needed so Edn 2011.12 can be released soon. Please follow the link in the mailing list, enter in the test-squad mailing list, or just download the ISO form our Playground folder
And post any issues you may find, so we can correct before this ISO will become the next stable release.

KResource migration tool is launched at LiveCD startup for no reason, as there's nothing to migrate on the live session.
Still found Appset-QT to use more CPU than necessary, maybe 0.7 has a better behavior.
Offline
KResource migration should be solved with the latest ISO up:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/chakra- … round/ISO/
After a lot of tests and changes, this should be the final ISO that can be released as our next stable.
Please test, and leave your feedback here, or in the chakra-testsquad mailing list linked above.
If no further issues are found, this ISO will be announced and released in two days.

Chakra - 2011-10-26 - Edn
========================
The Chakra Development Team is proud to announce the second release
of Edn, Chakra GNU/Linux featuring Linux 3.0 and KDE 4.7.
As announced after the last team meeting, this is a regular scheduled
release, approximately 7-10 days after a new version of KDE is
announced. Besides the latest KDE version, this release features an
updated toolchain and a split of Qt and QtWebkit, thus enabling html5
and WebGL support for Qt/KDE web-browsers.
With this release we offer:
* KDE 4.7.2
* Linux 3.0.7
* gcc updated to 4.6.1, glibc to 2.14.1
* minimal image you can build your desktop on
* ported tribe for KDE 4.7 series
* updated dbus
* QtWebkit 2.2
* updated initscripts with the option to test systemd
* updated mesa-stack
You can install additional packages from our repositories.
For all our GTK fans we added some more popular GTK-apps as bundles.
You can download them from our bundle page and run them with a simple
double-click right away. More about it you can read here.
If you miss one package you need you can take a look at the Chakra
Community Repo where our users add additonal PKGBUILDs you can simply
compile from source tarballs or install with AppSet. Read the CCR User
Guidelines to get started.
A good start is to read our Wiki or visit our Forums. If you are from
Italy or speak Italian, we recommend our partner page chakra-
project.it.
Other features to mention:
* Xorg 7.6 Stack with Mesa 7.11 and Xorg-Server 1.10.4
* Updated Xorg Drivers
* switch from heimdal to krb5 (including rebuilds of depending pkgs)
* fixed burg theme
* burg saves last boot-state
* fixes for kvm and virtualbox
* updated networkmanagement
Read the "Build Notes" for further information.

Tested i686 CD & x86_64 DVD in live and installed on Intel laptop. Nothing new found, all seem solid so far.

Can you configure LUKS or ecryptfs during install now?
No. For this release, no new features for Tribe were added. Major improvements to the installer will come when the udisks conversion can be used, but that is not the case yet.

I missed a short description of what else is in the DVD.
Also, what will be the policy with DVDs? Mini DVD size, 2 GB size for pen drive use, or any other target in mind?
Offline
As noted in the post above, DVD is around 1.2-1.3 Gb. Added are libreoffice, xbmc, blender, minitube, clementine, and some. But please check it out for yourself, testing needed so this can be the next stable release

Blender? Really? How many users actually need blender installed by default?
Offline
No matter what is chosen for the DVD, it will never be right for all users. The CD will stay for a minimal install, nothing added there but a base KDE, kate, dolphin, a simple media player and a browser, no language packs, no added apps, you can make it just as you want.
But blender is not just one app, it can do many things. Final selection for a DVD is ofc not set in stone, it still can and might be adjusted.

Seems DW picked it up: http://distrowatch.com/6954

Couldn't last night, but will try it today.
My question is because there are several different approaches from other distros. Some are "all you can eat" like Sabayon, use the DVD up to its capacity. Others try to fit mini formats, for they are handy, and stuff almost 2 CDs. And there are those who try to fit pendrives.
I don't like clutter, so, keeping it small is a bonus, but if the intention is to fit mini DVDs, must try to keep it on the current level. And God knows what will users ask for now that we have a DVD version!

I wonder if you corrected the language Portuguese Brazil, because the live cd the lyrics are weird, showing the wrong accent.excuse-me for my bad english,i'm brazilian.

In fact, Tribe has lots of untranslated text regarding Brazilian Portuguese. I can help, just drop me a message.
Offline
choosing the language of Brazil by the Portuguese live cd are some letters with this spelling (a § a), may not be in UTF8.
Offline
You are saying on burg menu, or after boot? Burg is clearly using the wrong encoding, I've reported that in the past.
Offline
is the choice of language before the start, the lyrics are strange characters, but it's the only thing that bothers me in the chakras, but it could work, I would be pleased.

Hi!
I've just tested installation from x86_64-CD iso file
Within this 1st scenario, I chose "Français" in boot menu in order to install a french version.
kde-l10n-fr was not installed even if internet connection was active before and during installation
"Welcome" plasma is a very good idea
Having removed "appset-qt" from minimal installation CD is an other one
I noticed that rekonq is back as default web browser
I'm keep on testing fresh installation...
Regards

I'll take a look at the scripts for installing locales, could be since 5 were always part of the CD, some changes need to be made for the minimal CD to pick any language, not just the ones beyond the 6 original included (en, de, es, ca, fr, it).
Rekonq was removed temporary, since there was an issue with it crashing way too much, that should be resolved, so it is back.
