First of all for some reason i couldn't use chakra for my daily use. Especially i am waiting kernel 3.1 shipped version. But i have installed chakra live dvd on virtualbox .
1. For starting , The Turkish section of Burg for live DVD is full of encoding problem. Here is one screenshot and some corrections.
2. I know that chakra is KDE oriented so even if there is a lot of fan of libreoffice i think it must be shipped with koffice (in the future calligra).
3. I am sorry that if i am wrong about tribe. I know it is on alfa stage but why it is like on downgarded mode about partitioning. Nothing wrong with KDE Partition Manager but on earlier versions i could make partitioning in tribe why you have switched like this mode. This is not feel confortable. And another thing that i couldn't find KDE Partition Manager on my installed system. I think one patitioning tool must be in the installed system.
4. The system settings can be reached at KDE menü from bookmarks. But it think it must be reached also
KDE MENU ---- Applications----Settings---- ( here is in my installed system is emty) and must be system settings.
Thanks

Thanks for the detailed feedback, always appreciated.
1- Seems Turkish translation of Tribe really needs some attention
2- Koffice was in too weak a state to ship and Calligra, though way better, not deemed stable enough. That has changed now, expect Calligra to be on the DVD ISO's from now on.
3- kpartitionmanger not on installed system was an error on that ISO, it is corrected in git. Tribe had to be simplified, the automated partitioning section was quite broken, and no-one around to fix it right, so this was the only workable solution. Needless to say, it is the top priority to get Tribe in a much more complete state.
4- Will do. Empty category for settings does not look right, though KDE does ship it that way......

I do expect Calligra to reach maturity, but don't agree on it being a replacement for Libreoffice now. Lots of incompatibilities with MS docs, and not full featured enough.

Kman, you can help with the Turkish translation if you wish, that doesn't need any coding.
My english is not perfect but i can try to do my best. How will be the translation. Is there a Turkish translation team for chakra.

You can download the tr.po (that must be the Turkish one) file from here:
https://gitorious.org/chakra/tribe/tree … anslations
Open it up with Qt Linguist (it's probably already installed on your system under Development applications), or Lokalize.
Fix any mistakes you find, and then share it back please. ![]()

A Chakra DVD install is to get the user to a nice basic desktop install. Showcasing what KDE (sometime Qt) has to offer for most daily tasks the user generally needs. It then is up to the user to try those option, see if they fit their needs. Great if they do, plenty of other options available in the repo's or CCR if not. Rekonq is one such option on par with calligra. It is KDE, very well integrated into the desktop, very small footprint on the ISO, but not as feature complete as other browser a user might prefer.

Don't take my word for it: the Calligra team itself labeled the next release as something for students/academics/early adopters. And I'm far from trying to bash Calligra, been waiting for Koffice for very long, but the experience never got to a "good enough" state.
IMHO, there's lots of beauty and potential in Calligra, but Spread, for instance, is very subpar compared to Calc, with a lot of functionality still missing. Not to mention I feel like editing a spreadsheet on Gimp, the interface simply doesn't fit, and there's an effort to correct this in the future.
Since an office suit only comes on the DVD image (fewer space constraints), and Libreoffice is running on QT, still think it to be the best option for now.
EDIT: Rekonq is much more polished at present time than Calligra.

About the Turkish translation is not posible to fix, our current tool does nto allow UTF-8, the only way is changing to something else for creating the livecd.

I must say the US English version has been coming along nicely! I've been checking back on Chakra every few months but always kept going back to Arch because the lack of packages in comparison. I think with this release it may be my daily-driver.

What packages do you miss?

Nothing I can think of currently, just random things that existed in the AUR but not in the CCR. A lot of the things I would just download from the AUR and edit the PKGBUILD slightly anyway, that's what I've been doing with linux-ck.
