DVD-ISO apps, should xbmc & calibre be part of the ISO?

KDE 4.8 is not that far of as to being released, makes it time again to start working on the next ISO.
With this ISO, the team would like to have more input of the users which apps they prefer to be on the DVD images.  We'll start a poll for about 4 categories, if more are needed, the will be added.  The current default will be mentioned first in any of these.  And all polls will be for Qt/KDE apps only.

This poll is just to make sure, some larger apps are not on the ISO, while most users do not want/need them.

They might be less used but I'm for it.
The DVD gives a chance to show a "complete solution" in a KDE/Qt-only environment for newcomers.

The problem with xbmc is that the performance with the nouveau drivers is terrible. I know that not everyone has nVidia cards in their machines, but lots of people do, and since the open source drivers are loaded by default it would only give a poor experience using this program.

Re: DVD-ISO apps, should xbmc & calibre be part of the ISO?

This vote is quite close, and most of the Chakra devs feel xbmc is a real showcase for what linux can be.  If the users overwelming had voted no, both these would have been removed from the upcoming ISO, but that is not the case.
So xbmc & calibre will stay on Archimedes-2012.02, voting will stay up, if the outcome changes, then it still might be removed from future Archimedes releases.

I voted "no" just because I never use xbmc or calibre, but I am fine with just removing them on my own install if others would rather have them. I agree that they do show off Linux well.

I voted "yes" because I like to use calibre. XBMC, not so much. It's too bad there aren't separate votes for each.

Xbmc I feel should be on the DVD edition, calibre not so much.

Media centers are becoming increasingly popular. Be it Google Tv, Apple Tv, Windows Media Center and Xbmc on linux. For a good majority of users, music, videos, tv shows are all part of the experience.
