While you're at it could you take a look at this?
Is there any reason why you need the git version? I have already ported dockmanager to ccr and it works fine for me.
@george: I'm against including it. That wouldn't be KISS. However, it might be integrated in upstream in KDE 4.9.
P.S.: for consistency the package might be better named kde-workspace-appmenu, as the package in the official repositories does not include base.

Ok. I don't really care, since I don't use it myself. I really can't stand the Oxygen window decorations.

Yeah, I know. Unfortunately, since the package had already been submitted, only a TU can change the name. If I try to just change the name and upload a new package, it will just create a duplicate package with a different name.

OK, it's up. Could you delete the kdebase- one?

@Inkane That's a collection of dockmanager scripts for kde apps. I'm more interested in the libunity dependency because I had trouble with it my self and having it in the ccr would simplify the process in the future.
Offline
@enoop: Ah, okay. However, libunity will be hard to port to Chakra because it depends on dee, which, while not noted in the PKGBUILD, needs ICU >= 4.8. But ICU is currently at version 4.6 in the core repository, so it currently can't be build.

Alright, I just used the arch ICU which is up to date. Thanks for all your help everyone. The chakra community is great.

Please do not post you use Arch packages, and ofc do not use Arch packages IF you are interested in having a usable system. I am completely sure it is not possible you did not see warnings all over the place, that Arch and Chakra repo's are incompatible. Especially a base package like icu that is needed by many others will break your system, if not all that depend on it are rebuild.
Offline
I used aur2ccr to download it. I got no errors, build without problems and I have yet to have a problem.
Offline
If you built it locally then of course it's a different situation, but you still might get issues by packages depending on icu that need a rebuild. So make sure to double check for those or have it in mind if an error related to them pops up in the future.
So again, NOT the recommended way of updating a package.
We are stressing this out cause we don't want users start using these techniques on their systems with out knowing the side-effects. If this happens, we will end up with lots of broken systems that we have no idea how to troubleshoot, due to the fact that they are not using the official packages from our repos.
Offline
There is one rule, and one rule only for ccr that is enforced at all times, for the exact reasons mentioned above, absolute no duplicates of the repo's in ccr. You are certainly not the first one who breaks their system by ignoring this one rule, only setup to protect users, and most probably many will still follow. And as you stated, your system did not break yet, so you'll keep ignoring this.........

I understand the danger and I have had only cause to use one update one package. I don't see any cause to dabble in the arch repos in the future. Thanks for everyone's help.

Finally, I got it working. In order to use it, you need to (after installing) add the "Application Menu" button in System Settings > Window Decorations > Configure Buttons, and make sure that you are using Oxygen as your window style.
Once it is installed, reboot. Your KDM theme may be reset- just change it back.
Here is what it looks like:

Hallo.
I installed appmenu-qt und oxygen-appmenu from the repos. The Menu is there. Everything ok, but I want that the the menu appear horizontal linke in the screenshot. On my system it appears vertical. There is no "Application Menu" button in Window Decoration -> Advanced.
Thanks

This package has nothing to do with oxygen-appmenu or appmenu-qt. Just run
ccr -S kde-workspace-appmenuThen you should see the menu button you mentioned.

Also, I will be updating the package when KDE 4.8.1 is moved to stable, so you may want to wait a few days- otherwise, you will have to compile it twice.
Offline
The appmenu dosnt work with gtk bundle apps.

kde-workspace-appmenu 4.8.1 is up in CCR. Upgrade with
ccr -SyuOffline
kde-workspace-appmenu has been updated to 4.8.2.
If anyone would like to maintain this package, please let me know. I do not have the time, hard drive space, or inclination to keep compiling it every month.
Offline
I'd be willing to try maintaining it.

Great! I have disowned the package. You can just click "adopt" for now, and you will become the new owner.
