(solved) Some problems with my audio device using some software

Hi everyone, I've been using Chakra Archimides for 5 days now, everything is going perfect, just some sounds problems I got using some software. For example, when I'm using Umplayer or
KDEnlive I can't hear anything, but opera browser, minitube, Dragonplayer, and also the same system when I turn on the computer can produce sounds.
Using KDENLive this is what I got::

SDL failed to open audio: No available audio device

What could be the problem?

This is my system:

Re: (solved) Some problems with my audio device using some software

For your sound problems uninstall kmix

sudo pacman -R kdemultimedia-kmix

and then install pulseaudio and related packages

sudo pacman -S pulseaudio pulseaudio-alsa kdeplasma-addons-applets-veromix

Close your session and relog. Go to systray preferencies and enable veromix plasmoid. Go to the veromix options and configure your sound devices.

Re: (solved) Some problems with my audio device using some software

Now It seems that my audio device is not recognize, so I can't hear anything at all.

When I put on Konsole "speaker-test -c 2" this is what I get:

speaker-test 1.0.25

Playback device is default
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 2 channels
Using 16 octaves of pink noise
ALSA lib pulse.c:243:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Conexión negada

Playback open error: -111,Conexión rehusada

Pulseaudio is not started. Reboot your systen and try again.

Veromix mixer can see your devices?

Re: (solved) Some problems with my audio device using some software

I don't know if it's our hardware detection or upstream KDE/phonon issues but we seem to be gettin a lot of these sound issues lately.

According to my experience with Chakra users and personal, the best solution is to play around with various phonon backends (I usually recommend vlc, but whatever works for you) and the device order in phonon settings.

If you have the patience and get the appropriate setting right, then you should be ok.

Of course you can try pulseaudio as agapito mentioned above, see if that helps.

Re: (solved) Some problems with my audio device using some software

Puff dumb me, my problem was that some programs (kdenlive and umplayer) were bad configure since a beginning in the audio driver output.... So now everything works just fine. Just to specify, I couldn't do my audio works very well using pulseaudio, so I uninstalled it and installed kmix again, but now I don't have any problem.

Thank you for your help and time.
