With the holiday festivities behind us and the dust from the previous move settled, it is time for KDE SC 4.12.0 to be put in stable as well. Note that kde-workspace is frozen by upstream and will remain at version 4.11.x.
According to the official 4.12.0 announcement "this release marks substantial improvements in the KDE PIM stack, giving much better performance and many new features. Kate added several features including initial Vim-macro support, and games and educational applications bring a variety of new functionality". You can have a look at the announcement for KDE Applications 4.12 for more information regarding this. In addition, "about 20 bugfixes as well as several optimizations have been made to various subsystems, including KNewStuff, KNotify4, file handling and more. Notably, Nepomuk received bugfixes and indexing abilities for MS Office 97 formats."
Furthermore, akonadi now depends on akonadi-backend and can therefore be used with PostgreSQL as a backend without having MariaDB installed. Our official recommendation is to use MariaDB as default.
It should be safe to answer 'yes' to any replacement question by pacman. If in doubt, or if you face another issue, please ask or report it.
