Chakra (DEV.RLS - CRUSH) - 2009-10-30

Today we're pleased to announce the release of Development-Release named Crush of our very own Chakra LiveMedias. It comes only with Minimal-Edition this time due minimal changes. I added our chakra-tools from git to test them out on a live-media. It's a hybrid-iso as usual. Read this: http://chakra-project.org/wiki/index.php/Start_our_LiveCD_isos_from_USB

Please test this release wherever possible, and most of all, on real hardware. Report bugs, or even better send us patches and share your ideas. The place where all of this happens is our Bugtracker, please be sure to register on it. Also check our Wiki, a lot of questions are already answered.

System Requirements:

a Intel Pentium II or higher processor for the i686 version, or

a 64Bit-capable processor for the x86_64 version

384MiB of RAM for running the live system and 512MiB of RAM for the installation (the more the better)

around 3GiB of available hard disk space (the more the better)

a screen capable of 1024 x 600 or higher resolution

a reasonably fast internet connection, e.g. no modem (you wont have fun with this)

change xdriver=no to xdriver=vesa

Hot Fixes

Offline installation modus is broken. Please download this file and place it to /usr/share/tribe/scripts/job-configure-pacman

wget http://git.chakra-project.org/chakra/tribe/blobs/raw/master/etc/postinstall-functions/job-configure-pacman
chmod a+x job-configure-pacman
sudo mv job-configure-pacman /usr/share/tribe/scripts/job-configure-pacman

Tip: if you want to install it offline you have to store job-configure-pacman file on a usb-stick or harddrive on which you have access during live-mode.
